about

This song is from Edinburgh days and was written around the same time as "Spitting Out The Shit". It came up for SoulJahm in Budapest during the summer of 2012 and felt good to sing and play. After a few attempts to get the right feel, we got this 1st acoustic version together towards the end of our time there and hope to take it further on the next version.

lyrics

Parents tell you who you are And there inside there starts a war Teachers fear you with their rules In the classroom they play the fool Doctors make you sick not well And lawyers got the law to sell Nobody wants you to be free Nobody wants to let you see We're mass produced to serve their goals No value outside what we're told Advertisers want your mind Politics is for the blind Look to the priests for the Divine He says "you'll go to Heaven if you'll be mine" We turn to science when all else fails When you look more closely you're still in jail Nobody wants you to be free Nobody wants to let you see We're mass produced to serve their goals No value outside what we're told Let it all go let it all go let it all Let it all go let it all go let it all Let it all go let it all go let it all Let it all go let it all go Go now! I don't want to set you free Maybe there's a chance you'll see The rich and famous play out your sins And magazines may help you in Friends and lovers they hold you back We keep each other on the track Cos God forbid we might just crack Nobody wants you to be free Nobody wants to let you see We're mass produced to serve their goals No value outside what we're told Down the factory lines Human machines We're programmed in There's no way out You can scream and shout Rebel or obey It's all the same And who's to blame If it's all a game Then where am I Placed in time
