about
Originally written in 2008, this version began to take shape in Milan in the summer of 2011, following on from the version earlier in the year in Budapest. The apartment we were staying in had a piano which was recorded first and the rest of the track built around that, with ukulele and maracas being added In Nice a month later, drums being put together in Paris in October 2011 and finally acoustic guitar, melodica and vocals were recorded in Budapest, April 2012, where it was also mixed.
This is the first completed song of a collection we are working on and this version is getting closer to the sound and vibe of the song as we see it and we will continue to develop the song as and when we are able to in order to realise this vision.
lyrics
Why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder
Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer
Come home, come home, come home, come home
There's a million ways to get what you want
How much longer will you play?
How much more do you want?
And the drum of time is beating down
Suffering will surely come
Why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder
Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer
Come home, come home, come home, come home
All those lonely nights
Now it's time to jump
There's no end in sight
Until you hit the bump
No need for you to walk that road
When thy will be done
So why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder
Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer
Come home, come home, come home, come home
Please come home
I'm telling you it's fun
So why do you run, run run
Why do you run...
